My mum was home sick last week. Our rescue was beside her the whole time and would growl whenever I got close and played guard dog the whole week.
Dogs are great.

That movie is from 1994. I think it’s fair game at this point.

I’m pretty sure mine is just guarding me to have first dibs at eating the body.

How can you say no to that face?

Meanwhile, at my place:
Dog 1, while jumping up and down on my face: NEED TO POOOOP. WHY WON’T YOU GET UP AND TAKE ME OUTSIDDEEE
Dog 2, sitting next to my head: I know you didn’t want to get up, so I pooped on the bathroom floor. Also, I’m wiping my butt your pillow right now.
Not sure which approach is worse.

My dogs both guard Mrs. RPM like that even if she’s just taking a nap...they don’t growl at me but they keep a close eye on things, and they would do worse than growl to anyone else who came near. Good doggos.

Is the difference between the two age? I strongly suspect that my excitable pupper would be #1 in this situation, since she repeatedly drops toys on my face until I get up any time I try to sleep past 7 am, and I know from experience that my mellow, 11-year old husky would do precisely #2 and think she was being very considerate.

Dog 1 is 3, Dog 2 is 2. It’s a personality thing so far.
Dog 1 also does that dropping toy thing whenever he’s bored - when we’re watching TV, cooking, folding laundry, etc.
Also, pics.
